  10.        This release note describes patch SG0000067 to IRIX 5.2.

  12.        1.1  _S_u_p_p_o_r_t_e_d__H_a_r_d_w_a_r_e__P_l_a_t_f_o_r_m_s

  14.        This patch to IRIX 5.2 supports all configurations supported
  15.        by IRIX 5.2.

  17.        1.2  _B_u_g_s__F_i_x_e_d__b_y__P_a_t_c_h__S_G_0_0_0_0_0_6_7

  19.        This patch contains fixes for the following bugs in IRIX
  20.        0000067.  Bug numbers from Silicon Graphics bug tracking
  21.        system are included for reference.

  23.           +o Dial & Button box operations could fail with a cable
  24.             exactly 75 feet in length. (SCR # 221769) This patch is
  25.             provided in the hope that it will allow a Dial & Button
  26.             box to operate correctly with a 75' serial cable. Note
  27.             that since 75' exceeds the maximum spec length, this
  28.             patch cannot guarantee that the D&B box will work. We
  29.             have observed that on our test system, a D&B box works
  30.             correctly with up to a 150' cable using this patch, but
  31.             this does not imply that we will officially support
  32.             such a cable length now or any time in the future.

  43.        Because you want to install patches for only the problems
  44.        you have encountered, patch software is not installed by
  45.        default. After reading the descriptions of the bugs fixed in
  46.        this patch, determine the patches that meet your specific
  47.        needs.

  49.        Patch software is installed like any other Silicon Graphics
  50.        software product.  It must be installed from the miniroot.
  51.        Follow the instructions in your _I_R_I_S _S_o_f_t_w_a_r_e _I_n_s_t_a_l_l_a_t_i_o_n
  52.        _G_u_i_d_e to bring up the miniroot form of the software
  53.        installation tools.

  55.        Follow these steps to select a patch for installation:

  78.          2.  Select the desired patches for installation.

  80.          3.  Initiate the installation sequence. Type

  85.              incompatible.  If this occurs, you must deselect one
  86.              of the patches.

  92.          5.  After completing the installation process, exit the
  93.              _i_n_s_t program by typing

  98.        To remove a patch, use the _v_e_r_s_i_o_n_s _r_e_m_o_v_e command as you
  99.        would for any other software subsystem.  The removal process
  100.        reinstates the original version of software unless you have
  101.        specifically removed the patch history from your system.

  108.        _v_e_r_s_i_o_n_s _r_e_m_o_v_e_h_i_s_t command to remove the patch history.
